Service Overview

What We Deliver

Mulching is one of the most cost-effective ways to improve the health and appearance of your landscape. LC & Son provides professional mulch installation for garden beds, tree rings, pathways, and planting areas.

We offer a range of mulch materials including hardwood, cedar, dyed mulch, and pine straw. Every application includes proper bed edging, weed barrier assessment, and even distribution at the correct depth.

Fresh mulch transforms the look of a property in a single day. It also suppresses weeds, retains soil moisture, regulates root temperature, and breaks down to improve soil quality over time.

Why Go Professional

The Professional Difference

Proper mulching isn’t just dumping material on beds. Too much mulch smothers roots and causes disease. Too little provides no benefit. Incorrect placement around tree trunks creates rot.

LC & Son applies mulch at the correct depth, keeps it away from trunks and stems, edges beds cleanly, and uses quality materials that last through the season.

FAQ

Mulching FAQ

Common questions about our land clearing services.
How often should mulch be refreshed?
Most beds benefit from annual mulch refresh, typically in spring. A thin top-dressing keeps beds looking fresh and maintains the 2–3 inch depth needed for weed suppression and moisture retention.
Hardwood mulch is the most popular all-purpose choice. Cedar offers natural insect resistance. Pine straw works well for acid-loving plants. We recommend the best option based on your plantings and preferences.
2–3 inches is the ideal depth. Too thin provides little benefit; too thick can suffocate roots and cause disease. We apply at the correct depth every time.
Usually not. Old mulch breaks down and improves soil quality. We add enough new mulch to reach the proper depth. Only if the existing layer is excessively thick do we remove some first.
Yes. Clean bed edges give a sharp, finished look and prevent mulch from migrating onto the lawn. Edging is included with our mulch installations.
